I actually liked it more than "Cool for the Summer" on the first listen, but I don't see it growing on me as much as that did. "Body Say" is nice very chill and restrained by Demi's standards.
The octave jump chorus is sooooo good! I pre-ordered Wings of the Wild so it should be here very soon. Although I still believe "Battle Scars" (one of my absolute favourite songs of all time) is leagues ahead, I have been obsessed with "Enough" and I like it more than "Dear Life". "Enough" was quite disappointing to me on first listen it seemed like a poor man's "Battle Scars". "Ride" has been big on radio here recently, I purchased it the other day as it's a solid tune and something a bit different to listen to. My friend and I actually were informally parodying BBHMM today, substituting the word 'money' for all kinds of things and trying to act 'gangstery', with inevitable failure. That - in conjunction with it being one of the hardest years of my life personally thus far and the time of my discovery of Mariah's catalogue beyond "Obsessed", "Without You", "Hero", and "All I Want For Christmas You" - makes 2013 an extremely important time for me, musically speaking. My Mum spun the 2014 Grammy nominees album (which obviously contains big songs from 2013) and as we were belting out the tunes in the kitchen, it reminded me of how great music was that year, in my opinion. It's amazing how certain years or periods of time seem to differentiate themselves from the rest as having better music. Maybe if radio picks it up here and gives it a chance for me to fall for it properly. I'm not quite sure if I'll ever go to the effort of actually buying it and putting it on my iPod.
#Rihanna sledgehammer official instrumental full
I suspect that that will probably happen.I listened to "Sledgehammer" in full finally and I quite liked it. It makes me feel that some genuine thought went into titling it. Re: "Russian Roulette" and "Princess of China" - I think it's really cool when a song's title is nowhere in its lyrics. "Bitch Better Have My Money" is my gangsta anthem. That whole 2010/2011 period was phenomenal now that I look back at it. Adding Britney to the remix was almost too much awesomeness for me to digest. I was so obsessed with "S&M" when it came out. It feels so organic, almost acapella-like. It's the opening verse that really grabs me the rest of the song is fantastic, of course, but Beyoncé does a stunning job with that intro. I have a very similar experience with "Runnin' (Lose It All)". 78 plays in four days is a pretty big deal for me. I didn't even listen to the snippets before the official release, but it's definitely impressed me. I had zero expectations for "Sledgehammer". Nice to see you around these parts again!
